More tarot help~ ^^;;;

  • Jul. 6th, 2008 at 10:08 AM
Thanks so much for putting up with all my super novice confusion and questions. ^^;;

A couple of people suggested I do an actual reading on the situation. But now a couple of cards in the reading confused me. ^^;;

I used the following spread:

2|1|3
5|4|6
8|7|9
10|11
12

1- The Problem
2- How I relate to the other person
3- How the other person relates to me
4- the relationship as a whole
5- My hopes and desires in the relationship
6- His hopes and desires in the relationship
7- What's causing the problem
8- How I want to deal with the problem; my perspective
9- How he wants to deal; his perspective
10- What needs to change
11- How to resolve any differences
12- Advice

To save you lotsa text on your friends pages... )

Thanks in advance for any help given! ^^
Blessed be~~
In a nutshell: Members of the European Parliament were asked to vote for a draconian three-strikes-and-you're-out policy that would force ISPs to monitor users for signs of file sharing behaviour and cut them off. They very sensibly voted against it. Now an entirely different bill is before the IMCO and ITRE committee — a sensible and boring Telecoms Package — and a whole bunch of stealth Intellectual Property Rights amendments which have crawled out of the woodwork. And guess what they're about?

If you live in the EU, read this now (then act on it, please).

think this doesn't apply to you because you don't download?
its not a big step to three strikes for an illegal or imoral act!
Yesterday was day-two of a back-to-back 'transcontinental' wedding weekend. Friday was spent documenting a wedding in San Francisco, then a red-eye flight back each to spend yesterday documenting a wedding outside Philadelphia.

A few months ago I introduced the Live Community to Shaunelle and Will when I posted their engagement session in Philadelphia. Today it is my pleasure to reintroduce all of you to Shaunelle and Will with their wedding photos.

So.....before I finally go to sleep after shooting and editing these two back-to-back weddings that were held approximately 2,700 miles apart, I present Shaunelle & Will's Wedding images.

...............We are now at the half-way mark to 2009, closer to next year than we are to the start of the current year!

It's around this time each year I start accepting clients for the following season. So to celebrate the half-way mark in 2008 I'd like offer the first five 2009 brides who choose to work with me a complimentary engagement session as an inclusive part of their package.

What does this mean for the couples who choose to work with me? Five hours of relaxed shooting. My photos are about capturing who my couples are, rather than creating who I'd like my couples to be. You'll receive a custom edited matte-archival 16x20 for yourself and a set of matching matte-archival 11x14 parent prints to give your parents. Additionally you'll have an online gallery of approximately 15 images, and a set of DVDs that include a selection of fully edited ready-to-print image files, as well as an culled selection of raw image files from our engagement session together.

My weddings and engagement sessions (and bridal sessions as well) have taken me around the world, so of course this offer is valid worldwide. The only expense to my clients is my airfare to where you'd like your engagement session to be held.

"Warm fuzzy" energy?

  • Jul. 6th, 2008 at 3:46 AM
Have you ever read, heard, or saw something that was really personally moving to you and you got what's colloquially know as the "warm fuzzies" from it, actually physically feeling a tingling sensation run up your spine? A touching poem, a heartfelt moment, a haunting note in a flowing tune, or even just a yawn? Something that just makes you shiver?

I seem to get that a lot, and not always when I experience something amazing.. Sometimes I can just think about it and it happens.. I've always wondered about it. And since finding Wicca (or rather having it find me, as it were), I now equate that sensation to energy. Is this a correct assumption?

I know different people experience energies differently.. What are some other ways it can be felt? How do you personally feel it?

So. :] I had a little run-in with divinity that made me smile tonight. I thought maybe I'd share.

I'm going through a tough time, and I sort of "fell away" from the God and Goddess for a while. My altar was in shambles, I hadn't prayed in months, etc etc. So the for the past few weeks I've been feeling the urge to reconnect, so I've been cleaning everything up, meditating, and most importantly, asking for a sign. Any sign.

So I was pacing around my condo complex tonight, on the phone with a friend of mine, discussing my mother's crippling lack of balance and how I desperately hope not to emulate her and instead find the balance that will make me whole. I've been so uncertain lately. And there, in the middle of the sidewalk, right before my bare toes, was a perfect little pine cone standing upright on its tip, perfectly balanced. Not a pine tree in sight.

I feel very blessed and special right now. x] What little run-ins with the Lord and Lady have just made your day recently?

It's interesting - though you tagged this photograph as "I'm ready to love everything" and to me it looks like "I'm ready to lose everything," I wonder if in fact these vastly different phrases would still translate to the same meaning...

I just showed this to my husband and he said "Thank God." It took us 6 months and we felt like failures.

Whenever I walk by a White woman, I avoid looking at her so she won't think that I'll try to rob her. But really, I'm not a racist person.

When I walk by a black person I'm afraid they will think I am racist if I do OR if I don't look at them.

I was reading PostSecret today and I happened to scroll down to the end of the page, and saw a photo of Kristin - a childhood friend that lived around the block from me in Florida. I did hear when she died, but I was very surprised to see the suicide hotline with Kristin's picture on it.

After researching how the Kristin Brooks Hope Center was founded I had to pass along to Kristin's husband, Reese, that the love he has for her is overwhelming. His devotion to her memory is remarkable, and I just wanted him to know that a friend who knew Kristin a long time ago was proud that she married someone like him. Their child is blessed to have parents like Kristin and Reese.

Thank you for all you do to help people in dark places find their light.

The ability and opportunity to connect with one of Kristin's childhood friends was a miracle and a gift from the PostSecret community.

After Kristin's death I desperately tried to reach out to all the people she grew up with. It was important to me that people who did know her learned what happened to her and how they can prevent others from falling to the same fate.

For over 3 years the PostSecret community has helped people learn that they share some of the deepest and darkest secrets and are not alone

Thanks for this miracle.

Tarot Question!

  • Jul. 5th, 2008 at 8:20 PM
So, I really haven't been reading the tarot for very long at all.
I've recently had a huge fight with my boyfriend (we haven't talked in five days... and we normally talk every day) that could possibly lead to the end of the relationship.
So I asked the cards how the conflict would be settled and Temperance popped up. Which I interpreted as a successful negotiation brought about by maturity in dealing with our problems.
I then asked the cards if we would stay together through this. And I got the Empress (which made no sense to me). So I asked and drew again, and got the King of Wands. Which still didn't make sense to me... Any ideas? :-/

Tunnels freak me the fuck out. It's like some sort of illusion where it feels like the tunnel is moving around the stationary traffic. It's very disorienting. Anyone else get the same feeling?

On the other hand, this was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon.

My House.

  • Jul. 5th, 2008 at 3:31 PM
I know our house is haunted by past spirits.
My older sister has seen her guardian angel in the dining room mirror.
When my mom and uncle were young, they heard the dining room mirror fall and crash on its own.
Although, when a mirror falls off a wall, doesn't it land on its face?
When it fell, the mirror got placed against the wall but it was still broken.
My uncle or mom didn't touch the mirror cause they were in the living room when they heard the noise.

I hate the dining room the most.
Scott thinks the dining room is a portal to the "other side" (I put that in quotes cause I don't know what to call it).
There is usually a white flash in the dining room near the mirror.
When I head to my room, I feel like I have to run through the dining room just to feel safe in my room.

There is always a dark (not good kind of "dark") shadow at the end of the hall infront of my grandparents bedroom.
I never like it when I see it.
But when I look harder, its not there.
It feels like a man though...
And he's not good in any way.
When I see him, I run into my room.

Last night, I heard a heavy, deep sigh coming from the hallway that leads into the kitchen.
When I went into the kitchen earlier that night, the door was closed all the way and locked.
When I went in there again, the door was wide open and unlocked.

I have heard voices in my room like there was a party.
I have told them to shut up, and they were quiet for abuot 5 minutes and started up again.
They have yelled in my ear before.
My aunt heard a man yell angrily in her ear when she stayed there for a month.
My fiance has heard a man say "hey" twice then later asked me if my radio was on...
I said no.
I now sleep with my x-mas lights on, my fan hitting my face (cause I like my room cold) and the radio on so I don't have to hear anybody.
I havn't heard or felt anybody since.

I have felt people in the living room watching me sleep when I had to stay there cause my aunt took over my room.
There is no one else though that is in there.
Its always in the back of the house (the dining room, my room and the hallway that leads to my grandparents room) and barely in the kitchen.

I still hate the dining room the most.

I just told my grandfather not too long ago about what I have seen and heard.
He said he feels like he has to bless the house every night (thats unless I see the Dark Man again).
He told me to take out all the scary movies I have and put them in a box and leave them outside because he has heard events that let spirits from those kind of movies out into our world.
I don't think the last part is true, but thats just me.
My mom, sisters, aunt and grandparents believe me, however my brother and other aunt think its just all in my head.

Just to let y'all know...
It may sound like a little kid is writing this...
But I'm 21.

The Duck Truck

  • Jul. 5th, 2008 at 3:40 PM
One of the local boutique dealerships in Phoenix sponsored a stop for the Duck Truck this weekend. There was free food and Ducati demo rides; what's not to like?

[info]d_klein and I showed up around 8:45 and signed up for rides. The first time around I rode a Hypermotard and the second swing saw me in the saddle of a red 848.

Has anyone tried Scorpion helmets? My Icon Alliance is getting pretty ragged. I've got the xeno long oval head, so the two that usually fit me are Icon and Shoei. The TZ-R fit me pretty well, but it's about $100 out of my price range right now.

How are the Scorpions in terms of breathability/comfort/wind noise?
